The lesson: don't pick the heavy favorite in minor bowl games that
don't mean that much to the teams that always go. Those teams not
only didn't cover in most instances, but got beat outright by the
lesser-known teams, who were hungrier.
I think this was reflected by the fact that only 5 out of 40
contestants finished over .500, a remarkably poor showing by SPORTS'
usually reliable prognosticators...

warm accolades. My secret, you ask? Extract the note, look at
each game, and pick 'em as you read 'em. I spent maybe 5 minutes
tops on my picks, and that was mostly extracting the note!

FWIW, Nazz had Ohio St and Tennessee and still won.
