| | well, a bunch 'o construction since then, eh?
To our south, Lakeview 400 (?) is nearly completed, the parcel about
which this note most recently was dedicated.
To our west, just beyond the Courtyard and [Holiday Inn?], Nortel's
new building. I'm told by Nortel folks that no, it's completion will
not mean the vacation of our building by them. Nortel will be moving
some folks into their new building but will also be keeping people
here as well.
To our east, yet another hotel... Amerisuites this time. This will
make (someone help me count here) 8 or 9 hotels within "reasonable"
distance of ALF, at least 3 more if you want to stay down on Holcolm
Bridge Rd
And just announced in the 30-May issue of the Alpharetta-Rosweell
Revue & News (http://appnews.com/b_gte.htm), the land to our north
which has already been vacated by the friendly cows. The headline -
"Gee, it's GTE in Alpharetta." Apparently GTE Wireless will be
relocating it's headquarters from Sandy Spring to our neighborhood.
The 554-acre area north of Windward Pkwy between 400 & 9 will be
developed by Hines Interests and will be called Deerfield (why not
Cowfield? :-)
In a smaller news item, Union Hill Road south of Westside Parkway
will be renamed to Cumming Street, to match the other end. This has
been a point of confusion for a while, apparently. Union Hill north
of Windward will keep it's name.
