With option in C3 events characteristics "Keep Highest priority untill
    clear",
as soon as the Highest priority has been clear, the icon color does not
    reset
to match the next highest event still outstanding.

My customer requires to keep the icon color matching the highest
    severity color
and when a clear occurs, keep the next highest and so on.

How can we satisfy this requirement ?

    Cheers

| 1440.1 | sounds like an new feature? | CRLRFR::BLUNT | Wed Dec 11 1996 09:23 | 23 | |

Probably I'm speaking out-of-turn, but this sounds like a code change.
From my understanding, C3 console monitor events per system are not
handled on an individual basis. When you view events for a particular
system, the severity level is cleared with a single "dismiss" box.
Events are handled differently in the ENS window, and they CAN be
handled individually. There doesn't appear to be a setting for either
ENS or at the managed system icons where it can be configured to
remember the next most severe event and set the color to that level.

Our managers were initially not aware that they needed to check all
events when they triggered. They were ignoring icon changes totally
when the color was blue or green. We set the C3 events to "Keep
highest priority," and things improved somewhat. We had to educate our
folks that THEY were responsible for checking ALL events that they were not
familiar with, as the default in C3 is to clear the icon color totally
when you dismiss the event window. We're still trying to pass along
the required education to get them to understand the use of the ENS
    window.

I will admit, it sounds like a useful option...

| Thanks guys,

Nevertheless, I'd like to know the formal process to raise this request
    up to developpers.
