    >Let me get this straight:

    >A 5 node VAXcluster with 6 HSCs will need 11 concurrent licenses
    >for PCM? Does it need a license for itself as well?

Yes, you will need 1100 units total. You do not need a license for the
PCM engine itself. If your going to try the trick of doing a reply/enable
in a pseudo-terminal in order to "monitor" the opcom messages of the
enginr itself, you would need an additonal license.

    >This customer bought the QL-V01AA-3B in 1993. What does that give
    >them?

No clue. I don't know the part numbers by heart.

    >Any finally the customer asked do they need to get a VAXcluster
    >license for the machine running PCM?

Only if they intend to run it in a Vaxcluster. *DO NOT* make the PCM
engine part of *ANY* VMSCluster that it will manage. This is
unsupported and a bad idea to boot.

| | OK, now for the hard part:

Customer has 4 HSJs as well. Those should be a piece of cake.

Customer also has 4 CMD's HAWKs (like the HSJs so I'm told). Would
    those work?

    	Appreciating all your inputs!!

We can manage any devices physical console port that meets the
    following requirements:

    1. RS232 or DEC423 console port

    2. Console "speaks" the ascii character set.

    3. Console supports XON/XOFF flow control and data buffering.

| | QL-V01AA-3B is a SINGLE concurrent license. The PAK however will
reflect how many of them have been purchased, you can tell by the
number of units. 1100 means 11 connects are allowed (and that the
customer paid for 11 concurrent licenses).
