On a V1.6 system we find if we DEFINE SYS$OUTPUT to a file
or set our interactive terminal type to non-VT, eg. "/DEV=Unknown"
$CONSOLE STATUS and
$CONSOLE STATUS /SYSTEM
do not produce any output, but
$CONSOLE STATUS /ALL and
$CONSOLE STATUS /USERS
work ok in 'hard-copy' mode.
Is this a known problem? Is it fixed in the 1.6 ECOs?

Mark Courtney, OpenVMS & LP Support, UK CSC.

Mark,
The CONSOLE STATUS utility was never designed to do what you are
trying to do. Personally I think they should but the point is that it
really isn't a bug but please submit a request for enhancement for
the next release. You can send that to the product manager, Rae
Kung-Collier at MUZICK::KUNG.

Dan
