We are having problems starting PCM 1.6 (with eco1) on an alpha 1000 4/233 running vms 6.2. The daemon process starts and then immediately dies. I set console$debug ALL and ran the console$startup command file and got the following warning: no such (global) section. This is the first install of PCM on this machine and we have installed the internal polycenter-pcm pak. there appear to be plenty of global sections available. any ideas what the problem might be? Can you post what was in the CONTROLLER_01.LOG file as well?

Go into the configuration editor and do a Verify. See if there are
verification errors in the database.

Dan, We went ahead and raised the gblsections and added a system to be monitored. We still get the "NOSUCHSECT" warning, but ENS and the other processes start up and everything looks ok now. thanks, judy | |||||

It is OK.
One-time apprearance of the "NOSUCHSECT" warning is normal thing during
START_UP at the "debug mode".
