Hi all,
Our customer has the following configuration: DEC3000/300 running
PCM as a supervisor of 2xDEC3000 and 2xDEC7000 with ASE running the
application.
In case a problem occurs, they want PCM to be able to:
a ) Dial-up (via the SCC and an adequate modem) the operator at home
b ) Optionnaly (would be very nice) send via the telephone an audio
file (saying for example, "Hey Pete, would you come up here quickly,
system B hangs?" :)
Questions:
a ) Is it possible ?
b ) If so, which sort of modem should we use? (dial-up ability
required)
We can write a specific program, provided we are given an example
of how to access the SCC port.

Any help appreciated - Thanks in advance

Yes, you could do this but your going to need a dectalk or some
such to do it.

When you say "dial up the operator", what does he have at home? A PC? Does it have a sound card? Shaun | |||||

re .1: thanks, we will investigate a possibility with dectalk.
re .2: when at home, the operator is only supposed to have his ears :)
Hence the audible message. But maybe, since our customer is a large bank,
they can afford a 2nd phone line with a PC permanently linked to it.
We'll suggest both solutions to the customer.
Thanks
