Hi! I'm sorry if the information of the following is easy obtained or at present somewhere else in the conference, on the network or on the planet. I'm sitting at home after having spent some time at a customer site trying to get PCM to talk to a DS90L+... Is the DS90L+ supported together with PCM? Has anybody used it before? Does anybody have the appropriate TSM config scripts for setting up a DS90L+ as PCM terminal server? The customer bought a DS90L+ a year ago and now they are trying to use it for PCM purposes. The menu syntax in the DS is rather tricky (hard to read/write/understand) and nothing seems to be like the good old DS200 days... :-) And now over to something... Is there a list of supported terminal servers or at least a list of servers that'll make you regret that you bought them? /Staffan

Steffan,
Yes, the DS90L+ is supported. There is a list in the Software
Product Description (SPD) which can be located in
pcmsvr::cm$docs:*spd*.*
Make sure the ports are set to the equivilent of 'host initiated
connection' and also make sure that PCM recognizes this as a LAT
connection.

Steffan,
The trick is walking through the menus to set the port up as a
"printer" port. If you are lucky enough to have the DS90TL manual they
do list the "menu path" to do this.

| 952.3 | Customer is buying a DS700 instead | 51678::MALM | My God! It's full of stars... | Thu Sep 07 1995 04:22 | 15 |
Dan! The customer is ordering a DS700 so the DS90L+ is obsolete in this case. The problem were two... 1: To set the DS90L+ up in the right config today. OK! We can do it (thanks to you all). 2: In the future, who will ever know how to set it up again... The customer has decided to buy a DS700 with the easier command syntax (and eight more terminal ports). The DS90L+ was a misstake by the customer regards Staffan | |||||
