    Customer installed 6.1 and got the error on starting up the console -c3

    root@demon(209)>console -C3
    Please wait, starting process in background ...
    8305:/usr/opt/DCR160/bin/OSF/console_c3: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error:
    cannot map
    libcxx.so

    Does he have to install C++ off of the OS distribtion to get past this?
    Since I've always installed netview prior to console mgr, and netview
    does require c++, I never ran into the problem.

    thanks.

| Yes. PCM version 1.6 (not 6.1) requires the C++ RTL library.

    do you know if C++ requires a license?
    That would mean that the customer is required to purchase TWO products
    to run console manager?

| I would guess that C++ does require a licence, however, I doubt that the RTL actuall does. You would probably be better off asking this question in the C++ conference. If/When you get a definitive answer, please let us know here so that we can ammend the SPD to reflect the C++ requirement. Cheers, Phil | |||||
| 781.4 | No license for Shared libs. | ZEDAR::simon | Simon Jackson 830 x3879 | Mon Jun 05 1995 09:07 | 6 |
| Yuo do not need a license for the C++ Shared libraries. I have the subset installed on my system running PCM with no license just fine. You only need the license for the development environment. Cheers Simon... | |||||
