| | Cathy,
there is a procedure shipped only with the OpenVMS Vax kit which will
extract data from the VCS database. This is a standalone program which can
be run by the customer on the VCS machine. It produces a "Skeleton" PCM import
file. This will give the basic data including events in PCM format.
This image CONSOLE$VCS_CONVERT.EXE does not need a PAK to run, so if you give
the customer a copy it will do what he wants.
It is in the CONSOLE015.C saveset.
Cheers Simon....

| | Cathy,
To add to what Simon has said, the PCM "import" file is plain ASCII text
and can be imported into a PCM database on any of the supported PCM
platforms, this should enable your customer to go from say OpenVMS VAX to
OSF/1 if they so wish.
Cheers,
Phil

| | Cathy,
In STARS, you will also find a "port" file that contains all of the
profiles that VCS contained plus some updates. If you can't find it
then do a dir of OPG::CM$KIT: and you should find a VCS_TO_PCM.PORT
    file.

    Regs,
      Dan
