I am attempting to check some standard system-wide default setup
for Polycenter Console Manager v1.5 on OpenVMS (VAX).
I have thus changed the logical CONSOLE$USER_DEFAULTS to be a search
list. But I have now come across some problems with the way PCM
seems to handle the checking.
When I fire up an eventlist (ie. CONSOLE EVENTLIST) it ignores the
CONSOLE$EVENTLIST.DAT file in OSCINT$LOCAL, however when I fire up
the C3 the eventlist reads this file correctly.
To further complicate the issue if I modify my C3 display and save it
Console Manager will only read a saved file if in SYS$LOGIN:
I am aware that this may not be strictly be supported, but please can
we have some consistency.
Andy.
ITOCK>sh log console$user_defaults
"CONSOLE$USER_DEFAULTS" = "SYS$LOGIN:" (CONSOLE$LOGICAL_NAMES)
= "OSCINT$LOCAL"
1 "SYS$LOGIN" = "DISK$ITOCK_2:[HUGHESA]" (LNM$JOB_8670C680)
1 "OSCINT$LOCAL" = "OSCINT$ROOT:[LOCAL]" (OSCINT$LOGICAL_NAMES)

What the hell, i've done it for the patch kit, eventlist (in interactive mode), conmon and dialog should now use the CONSOLE_USER_DEFAULTS logical correctly, in addition, monitor interface scripts now search this logical as well. That is, translate and use the first file it finds on a read, but save in the first directory on a write. Cheers, Phil | |||||
