During the installation of V1.5, we answered YES to the question: * Do you wish to install the British English UID files [NO]? This then displayed the message about including the line: $ @SYS$STARTUP:DECW$STARTI18N en_GB in the system startup file. Is the order of startups important for PCM? Should DECW$STARTI18N be run _before_ CONSOLE$STARTUP ? This begs the other question - what does CONSOLE$STARTUP depend on being started? I assume it should be started after LAT$STARTUP and UCX$STARTUP if LAT and TCP/IP connections are to be used. Any others?

Steve,
PCM needs LAT, TCPIP Services for VMS (UCX) and the
DECwindows I18n code starting before PCM only if you
intend to use those parts of the product i.e.
TCPIP Services for VMS if you are using TELNET
connections to your managed systems
LAT if you are using LAT connections to your
managed systems
DECW$STARTI18N if you are using British English
as your DECwindows language, in fact if you
dont execute this, the software will
"fall back" to the U.S. English UID files.
As far as I can see, we dont rely upon anything else.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Phil
