| | Olli,
Strange, however, we have never done any testing with cisco
  terminal servers.
Every 600 seconds, your 10 minute period, we send a TELNET
getstatus and wait for a response, does the cisco terminal
server resond to a getstatus TELNET command, if so, what is
  its response.
I am afraid that until we can get hold of a cisco terminal
server to test, this is not a supportable server.
Cheers,
Phil

| | Olli,
You need to send the escape character (usually ^]) then type
at the telnet> prompt "send getstatus" let me know what the
terminal server returns, you may have to do a "set options"
  first.
For example, on our DECserver 300, we perform the following
  sequence...
  # telnet server 2016
  Trying .......
  Connected to qhlive.reo.dec.com.
  Escape character is '^]'.
  ^] <- I typed this
  telnet> set options <- I typed this
  Will show option processing.
  ^] <- I typed this
  telnet> send getstatus <- I typed this
  Sent suboption STATUS SEND
  RCVD IAC SB
  Received suboption STATUS IS
  WILL SUPPRESS GO AHEAD
  DO SUPPRESS GO AHEAD
  WILL STATUS
The results of doing this to a VMS system running TCPIP Services
for VMS for example is the following :
  # telnet hostname
  Trying 16....
  Connected to hostname.reo.dec.com.
  Escape character is '^]'.
  ^]
  telnet> set options
  Will show option processing.
  ^]
  telnet> send getstatus
Remote side does not support STATUS option

    Cisco dosen't support STATUS option.

  telnet> set options
  Will show option processing.
  ^]
  telnet> send getstatus
Remote side does not support STATUS option

We try to get more information if STATUS option can be enable on
these servers. PTT will contact to Cisco.

It is possible to disable this check in CM. Line seems to ok
    anyway. CM reports
... 18:16:53 Critical CMgr Console link lost...
... 18:16:53 Clear CMgr Console OK...

Note that time stamp is same for both events.

| | Olli,
We cant disable this for you I'm afraid, we also dont have the time right
now to invest in the effort to make this happen for the next release, we
are madly trying to get everything working on all 4 platforms so we can
get a field test kit out.
Let me know what your PTT says. This may be a sales opportunity with the
PTT to sell some DECserver 90M's which have this capability and because of
their Flash memory do not need to be downloaded when on a remote site!
Cheers,
Phil
