I take that you've entered the user successfully into the database,
specifying which system the user can access and then restarted CM so that
it will reread the database?

| If I su to the user, I can execute cm no problem. But its only when I use
/usr/bin/cm in the shell field of the password file do I get loging out
problems.

Funny that, I get the same problem
but only on LAT connections; try ip and/or decnet.
Be interested to know what the problem is, I haven't spent
a lot of time (any time!) investigating yet.

| IP's okay ... I can't test decnet (the server concerned doesn't run it)
I've gotten around the problem for the moment by having /usr/bin/cm in the
.login file of the account concerned and using /bin/csh. However this does
lead to a bit of a security hole since nobody's supposed to be able to
get to a shell prompt on this server

try your method in .4 but put onintr - at the start of the .login file. Your
user cannot use CTRL C to get out.
Does that help LES??
