	btw:  has there been any noticeable performance difference
	      since the submit trees moved from buffer to secret?

Try doing a umount /share/secret/build/submits.dsk1 or umount -f /share/secret/build/submits.dsk1 if that succeeds, then do the odemount. If it fails you may have to reboot your workstation. -josh p.s. secret was down part of the weekend and could have caused the stale mount.
