I've sent mail to admin asking that they fix the /usr/sde update,
which has not been running since 7/22. Once this runs it will fix
the alpha area. I have no idea how this might have gotten erased,
however.

The Alpha ODE tools directory, formerly in /usr/sde/ode2.0/tools/alpha/bin,
is gone. There seems to be available alpha_osf1, alpha_OSF1, and alpha_ace
instead, all of which point to the same thing.
What happened? Was this deliberate or accidental, and why? Should we go
ahead and use the new directories? Why wasn't a link left in place for the
old alpha path?

Subj: Re: Tools directory
In fact alpha has always been a link. For several years anyway the tools
have lived in alpha_ace with links called alpha_OSF1 and alpha_osf1.
Please change you references accordingly.
An easy way to do this and always be correct is to add these to your
environment:
set toolspath=( /usr/sde/tools/`machine`_`uname`/bin )
set path=( $toolspath $path .....)
