I have copiled the following '.GNC' file using the 'MANUAL' design
parameter and find that columns 3 and 4 overlap.
<TABLE>
<TABLE_ATTRIBUTES>(MULTIPAGE\WIDE)
<TABLE_SETUP>(4\5\20\20)
<TABLE_HEADS>(Item\Details\Project Baseline\Customer Statement)
<TABLE_ROW>( 1\Maximum number of BOQ items in a tender ?\25000(excludes Working
Headings)\50000)
<ENDTABLE>
Is this a bug or a feature ?
Question(s) : Is there a way of defining the size of the gap between
the columns without setting up dummy columns ?
: How does Document obtain the default size of the
line when calculating the last column ? , and can
this be modified accordingly within a document ?
Desires : Would be nice if <TABLE> items had a <LIST> facility
Regards
Robert

Which device did you use? Postscript and LN03 output looked ok here.

Not at the SDML level.

The overall width of the column depends on the size of the text area,
which varies from doctype to doctype. You can extend that with the wide
attribute; this pushes the table out to the left margin. The width of
the last column is what's left over after space for the preceding
columns have been allocated.

Please elaborate.

Please see NOTE 337 and its replies. This has already been discussed
at great length.

| 581.3 | Have referred to 337 | PION::COSMANTEGNA | Robert Mantegna 843 2256 | Thu Jul 02 1987 03:13 | 15 |
Reference .1, I have referred to Note 337 and it does seem that
the 'SOFTWARE' doctype handles the problem.
Reference .2, the device used was LN03 and we are currently running
Document BL7 on MicroVMS 4.5.
> Desires : Would be nice if <TABLE> items had a <LIST> facility
This refers to automatic numbering multicolumn list as already
pointed out by note .433 . This at present has to be done manually!
