530.0. "local elements filename problem" by PROSE::MOODY () Fri Jun 19 1987 11:00
We recently installed bl8 on our system. When processing an
old style memo using the memo doctype and postscript destination,
    we received the error message:

    file not found

    DOC$ROOT:[LOCAL.FORMATS]CUP$LOCAL_ELEMENT.TEX

When I found the file it had the name CUP$LOCAL_ELEMENTS.TEX

So, I renamed the file to CUP$LOCAL_ELEMENT.TEX and processed
the memo again. This time I got a text formatter error message
about the declogo. Per the release notes I fixed the bug and
the memo was processed successfully and output correctly on
    our LPS-40.

The question is, why was there a pointer to CUP$LOCAL_ELEMENT.TEX
instead of CUP$LOCAL_ELEMENTS.TEX? Also, are we running a wrong
image that contains this pointer and if so, what are we doing
    wrong?

    regards

    John

The logical name assignment of DOC$LOCAL_ELEMENTS.TEX to point to
CUP$LOCAL_ELEMENTS.TEX is in the installation guide. It has to
be done manually by the installer of VAX DOCUMENT. I suspect it
    was a typo during installation...
