    The release notes say that tag <NOTES> is obsolete. What is this
    tag ? Is it related to the <NOTE> tag ? Was it before BL6 ?

	The obsolete tag <notes> was used in some templates. It was made obsolete at BL7 because it was too often confused with <note>. Its effect is also achieved using: <subhead1>(Notes) <list>(numbered) There was nothing more to it than that. -pa
