| 230.1 | An appendix now, a pocket guide later. | VAXUUM::CORMAN |  | Fri Apr 10 1987 10:47 | 8 |
| | Right now, we don't have plans to produce a pocket reference
    (we just have plans to make it through to Version 1! :-] )
    However, we've created a handy-dandy appendix to the User's Guide,
    Part 1, that's a list of all tags, the doctype to which they belong,
    and a 1-2 line explanation or each. The appendix will be out with
    the Field Test Update documentation.
    A pocket reference *would* be ideal...it's already on the wishlist.

| 230.2 |  | COOKIE::WITHERS | Le plus ca change... | Fri Apr 10 1987 12:39 | 40 |
| | Since I pestered Rose into asking for the pocket guide, I might as well
state what I was looking for...something like this
Tag			Args			Common		related
name	        				terminator   	tags
   .
   .
   .
<LIST>(kwd[\attr])	kwds:			<ENDLIST>	<LE>
			ALPHABETIC
			   .
			   .
			   .
			attr:
			start-letter
			   .
			   .
			   .
   .
   .
   .
<NOTE>(arg)		arg:HEADING-TEXT	<ENDNOTE>	<NOTES>
   .
   .
   .
<P>			none			none		<CP>
								   .
								   .
							       	   .
								<RIGHT_LINE>
As far as I'm concerned, you really don't even need a textual description
of what the tag does, as long as all tags are named intuitively (speaking
of which, is there a full-length tag that corresponds to <p>?).
Also, note that NOTES is not documented.

| 230.3 | We could all use this -- let's pitch in! | 38299::THERIAULT |  | Thu Apr 23 1987 10:29 | 13 |
| | If any of your faithful users have scribbled down some notes or
    partially-compiled some of this information, they could post a pointer
    for the rest of us -- and maybe save you poor under-the-gun developers
    some work. Maybe if you post "the" format in which to do this,
    we could split the job among the numerous volunteers from this
    conference's readership who'd rush to help, recognizing that the
    tiny sacrifice on their part would save them lots of thumbing-through-
    manuals time, just as soon as the multitude of contributors had their
    pieces ready...
