A customer in Scotland is trying to build a case to retain his Rdb
environment against pressure to move to 'open' Oracle.
I've read through some of the Oracle related notes in this conference,
but is there any specific comparison document between Oracle and Rdb
with functionality comparisons, benchmarks etc.
Thanks, Tim.
PS : Is there anybody in UK Marketing focusing on Rdb this year? I
certainly haven't found anybody.

I have spoken to Tim by phone but am entering this as a general answer
for future reference.
I believe the lack of UK Marketing is a result of the political
process in Digital rather than a particular comment on the future of
Rdb within the UK. It seems most of the UK software marketing has left;
not just the database related marketing.
I am part of the Technology Services group that covers the North UK
and Scotland and myself and my colleagues would be keen to work with
any account teams in order to try to convince customers of the
benefits of Rdb over Oracle (both technical and business related).
Pre-sales funding would do nicely.
If anyone else is in a similar situation in the UK then please contact
me and we can discuss the best way of helping you.
