Note 381 states that Informix uses Rdb/VMS rather than its own dbms
when it runs on VMS. This note is a bit aged, however. Is this still
true? We have a customer who wants to buy Rdb/VMS, but they want
support for Informix tools.

Dave, it is my understanding that INFORMIX has chosen not to develop on VMS at all, and just stay with UNIX and their derivations. Therefore there will not be a INFORMIX Tools for Rdb/VMS. | |||||

This is my understanding as well. At my former job we even had
Informix on our VMS system. It was VERY buggy and I guess they
(Informix) decided to concentrate on the Unix platform.
We had a very STRONG Informix following at my former job and it
took some time to get them to use RDB. They had a definite need
to be able to use the Next, Previous and Goto options in
Informix. My group finally wrote some (a lot) of Pascal - RDML -
SMG code to give them the same functionally (and look).
