Has anyone converted CINCOM's SUPRA to Rdb/VMS? I have a customer who
is not happy with SUPRA and wants to convert. What is involved? Is
this extremely involved? What are usually recommended as complementary
tools?
Thanks,
Patti

Patti, sorry I haven't got back to you sooner but had
trouble with the voice mail you left.
I would suggest contacting the Colorado Migration Centre
ans/or place a note in the CONVERSION notes file.
I know that the CMS looked at converting from HP's IMAGE to
Rdb as well as supported conversion to CINCOM's DB under
the VAX Attract program many moon's ago.
IMAGE and CINCOM have a similar call structure so they
are probably the best at evaluating you chances and may
be able to quote on the conversion.

How about CINCOM's Mantis 4GL. From what I understand Mantis supports
both SUPRA and Rdb. At their Control 90 symposium, CINCOM announced
that they would be porting Control:Manufacturing to Rdb. Control:Mfg
is written in Mantis. CINCOM is also positioning MANTIS as the tool
that protects their customers investment in SUPRA, while allowing them
to build new applications with Rdb.
