| | Yeah, howboutit? I have used several of these presentations, 863 many
    times, the DB sales why and how, the comparative grid, the competitive
    info sheets...

    I've found them to be invaluable. We, in the field, *need* these
    materials, kept up-to-date, to continue making the headway in the
    market that we've been slowly making for the last couple of years.

    Please find the resources to maintain these important marketing aids.

| 748.2 | How about a presentation that shows all the Rdb interrelated products? | OROJOE::NUHFER |  | Sat Sep 29 1990 21:39 | 6 |
| | I sure would like a top level presentation that shows all the products that link
to Rdb. I have had to do this several times and I have one slide showing all
the products and have to talk to it. Does anyone have such a presentation
already?

| 748.3 | Keep it to one slide!!! | RANCH::DAVIS | Riding off into the sunset.. | Fri Oct 05 1990 17:21 | 24 |

    Joe,

    UI have always used one slide (AND ONLY ONE) to get that message
    across. I has VMS in a little circle, Rdb wrapped around it, and then
    a bunch of the third party names swirling around it. I talk about SAS,
    ACMS, DECdecision, etc, and mention a few in terms of different
    products all talking to the same database. To put a bunch of slides up
    and try to address al of them would take way too much time.... The
    MESSAGE to get across is that there are a lot of applications
    available, what works best depends upon your particular business need
    (MR Customer) and we are here to help you determine the best fit....

    I.E. Obviously rdb is the best database engine, ....now, let's pick the
    right tool....

    That is, I *USED* to do this...hey all you database wizzahds, Gil got a
    new job!!!!!!

    Cheers,

    Gil (Still a database fanatic)....

| 748.4 | I would like a list also | BIGRED::SPARKS | The Sparrows are Flying Again | Thu Oct 11 1990 19:32 | 25 |
|  |     I agree with .0

    It would be nice to have a list of all the tools available for use with
    RDB, their associated benifits and drawbacks as well as estimated
    price.

    I seem to be getting lots of interest in RDB, not because it is the
    best database engine (which it is), but because the customers are
    beginning to realize that they can put RDB on a VAX and their end users
    can use different tools to access it. It truely does put a large high
    performance database in the end user area.

    One question I get asked: Get me a list of all the tools that will
    access RDB so I (the customer) can make a knowledgable decision. I think a
    list if not an entire slide show would be a good idea. If not
    something external, an internal list with contact people for the 3rd
    party tools as well as internal contacts. Maybe just a topic in this
    notes file or the RDB notes file with all known tools would be enough.

    Right now I am swamped by PCSA issues, and don't have time to compile a
    list of these tools. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
