I have a potential customer interested in using ACMS and
SYBASE. I'm interested in a) how viable is this, and
    b) who's done it.

The customer is interested in getting info pretty
quickly so they can consider this alternative, or
discount DEC software and stay with Sybase.

| Why woudln't the customer discount Sybase software. I thought Sybase
said that they sold TP...why do people need ACMS with it!

TP applications written in Sybase can not compete with ACMS/Rdb
    applications.

| Don't give up the sale of Rdb! Rdb/VMS with CDD/Plus and DECforms
and ACMS is the best TP solution for VAX/VMS (but you knew that :-))
Get a copy of NOVA::PM01:[BOOTH.PUBLIC]sybase_competitive.ps and
push back on your customer. He's making a mistake if he goes with
    SYBASE.

| On a purely technical level, how will the customer handle ACMS multiple
threads coming into the multiple Sybase threads. Then the ACMS tasking
synchronized with the Sybase multi-tasking and multi-threading.

I would put this note in the OLTP conference. Then if you don't get an
answer, the best alternative is to "discount DEC software and stay with
    Sybase."
