I've read a piece of news in a Computer magazine that Ingres has
launched two new products, Object Manager and Knowledge Manager
which work with its relational database manager to produce the
    "first commercial intelligent database".

Object Manager lets you define your own data type and access them via
    SQL.

Knowledge Manager allows rules to be associated with data types and
executed automaticqlly when the data is processed.

Do we have any database tools that competes directly with the above
mention product ? Is it really product or features within its
database ? Does anyone know ?

    Zahir.

| You can read a little more on "knowledge management" and "object
management" in the report referenced in note 514.0.

These are not separate products. Nor are they part of every INGRES 6.3
system. Instead, they are features of 6.3 available at extra cost.
