In the ACMS-Notes file is mentioned, that INGRES works together with
ACMS.
My understanding is, that there is only ONE way to conjunc INGRES with
ACMS; run the INGRES-Application from a DCL-Server.
With a DCL-Server you do not gain the benefit of ACMS:
- reducing the number of VMS-Processes
- reducing the number of Rdb/VMS or DBMS users
- avoiding database attaches / detaches during runtime
- avoiding imageactivation during runtime.
Am I wrong or right with my understanding ?

It is true if you will try to use INGRES front ends (QBF,RBF,ABF)
with ACMS.
However, you can use INGRES dbms with embedded SQL or QUEL in 3GL
programs from ACMS procedure-servers and gain all benefits of ACMS,
exactly the same way you work with RDB.
