I am currently working an account that has narrowed the field to Rdb-RALLY and
ORACLE for application development and prototyping. I heard ORACLE recently
has released their own version of ALLY (SQL*ALLY???).
o Is this true?
o Has anyone seen this animal yet?
o We have DIGITALized ALLY, What has ORACLE done?

I believe it is called SQL*ReportWriter. It is a report writer for
the Oracle database. It will also work on other SQL-based databases
(DB2).
Early reports indicate it is quite good. The interface seems to
be designed more for bit-map than character cell terminals. I haven't
seen any reliable reports on it yet.

SQL*Forms + SQL*ReportWriter is probably euqivalent to Rally. NOte
that SQL*Forms is probably not based on Ally, though.

P.S. See the Rally competiton notesfile for more info on SQL*Forms.

according to IDC, SQL*Report Writer is not yet a bit-mapped product,
though that is "planned". For Oracle, that could mean eons.
