We have an <interactive> installation example that we want to annotate
with text and perhaps other examples. Before we upgraded the system to
DOCUMENT V1.2B, we were able to use <footnote> and <footref> quite
effectively to take the place of the non-support of the <callout> tag
in online doctypes.. Now we get double footnotes and are unhappy at the
prospect of using the <online_popup> tag as there won't be sufficient
amount of room to print the canned verbiage that accompanies the tag.
Since the <callout> tag doesn't generate a popped-up window, which it
probably should anyway, do you have any suggestions? Or does this mean
we have to explore other Document hacks?

Footnotes should work under 1.2B as they did under 1.2A, so I'm not
sure I understand the problem. Would you send me a small file with
the coding you describe?
Thanks,
Mary
PS. You're right, callouts should be popups...it's on the list...
