Hi,
I've been away from IBI Focus for a while ( seems like so has everyone
else from the activity in here ), but here's my question. A user has
a .MAS of an ISAM file that has been in use for some time now. Just
this week he's got an error that says an INDEXED field length cannot
be greater than 12 characters. We shortened the FIELDNAME to be
less than 13 and it works fine. Does anyone know if this error was
caused by a recent upgrade to IBI FOCUS ? We're running Version 6.2.2
on the machine that produced this error. I'm not sure if this version
was recently installed there or not. If anyone knows this to be
correct, let me know. I guess we'll have to do a search on all our
FIELDTYPE=I fields and make sure we don't violate the new FIELNAME length
limitation.
Thanks,
Sharon

Sharon, according to the 6.1 Summary of New Features, regarding
"Enhanced Field Name Recognition":
`As part of the 6.0 FOCUS for VAX/VMS Release, users can now use long
field names, up to 66 characters.'
*but*
`Note: Indexed fieldnames in a FOCUS database continue to be limited to
12 charaters.'
