    	As I converted my nth COBOL file definition to FOCUS format last
    night, I wondered to myself if anyone had created a parser to read
    a COBOL description and create a FOCUS master file description.

    	If anyone out there has such a utility, please let me know.

    Peter.

|     Hello Peter

    A DTR (CDD) --> FOCUS (.MAS) converter exists.

    Info can be found on Notes file SHIRE::FOCUS note 22.3

    Hope this help.

| THERE'S ONE ON THE IBM SIDE. I don't know of a VAX version.
    I think IBI is developing something to generate masters from
    the CDD (Common Data Dict)

| 96.3 | AUTORMS in v5.2 | PLANIT::RYAN | Thu Aug 04 1988 19:01 | 10 | |
| Check with IBI for low-level documentation on the AUTORMS feature
    that was shipped with v5.2 but no one thought to tell anyone about
    it until 7/14/88 when IBI release a post-facto memo.

    I haven't use AUTORMS but it converts a FD into a master. Whenever
    there's a problem (i.e. names larger than 12 bytes) it truncates.
    If the name is not unique, it appends a sequence number. It appears
    that the best feature is the RMS to FOCUS data type conversion.
