39.0. "Help! Error FOC322" by PMRV70::HOLT () Wed Feb 24 1988 15:23

    While I'm waiting for my copy of the FOCUS User's Manual to show
    up, could someone maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong?  (The one
    copy in the building is on loan... somewhere...)
    
    I have written my Master File Description and done a CHECK FILE.
    The response says "Number of Errors = 0", but when I try to update
    or delete records, I get the following error message:
    
         (FOC322) FILE DESCRIPTION DOES NOT MATCH DATA: PHASE
         UNKNOWN FOCUS COMMAND   CRTFORM
         BYPASSING TO END OF COMMAND
    
    ("Phase" is one of my segments, and also one of the fieldnames.) 
    I suspect I put something into the database wrong, but since I can't
    delete my records, I can't start over from scratch.  Also, I don't
    know if this makes a difference, but I'm using AUTOMOD to
    add/update/delete entries.

    (FOC322) The Master file description has been changed after data
    	     was entered into the file and no longer describes the data.

    Thanks - that was quick!  What I guess I'll try is to give my 
    Master File Definitiona new name and THEN put the data back in 
    (fortunately I was just "trying out" my file and had only put in 
    a couple of records.)
