Subject: THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
"Now and then, and often with serendipitous results, a man or
woman takes a good hard look at the beaten path .. 'the
well-established precedent' -- and decides it's time to blaze a
better route" (ASQC 1989).
I will be taking advantage of the early retirement program to
join a small company in Burlington, MA (closer to the family
hobbies).
After 16 years with Digital I have made thousands of business
acquaintances, and friends. I will miss you all.
While the work we are engaged in has been both difficult and
stressful, I have been continuously impressed with both the
quality of management and the dedication to the task that we have
all shown.
My one regret in this event is that I will no longer be able to
help you influence the course and direction of our recovery. But
I leave confident that we are on the right course and that it is
only a matter of time before we improve our market share and
profit position.
Though I will not be traveling in the circles of Digital users
anymore, I will continue to search you out at industry events,
and I hope you will stay in touch with me as well.
For many of you I feel I have had a direct and positive impact on
your career and development, and, once I feel that way, I will
always feel concerned for your welfare.
