                 ****************************************
                 * IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE *
    	         *   U.S. Digital Solutions Library     *
                 ****************************************

The U.S. Digital Solutions Library (formerly known as the U.S.
ASSETS Library) is pleased to announce the completion of the
U.S. ASSETS Library Consolidation effort. All packages from
the Detroit, Michigan (formerly U.S. Manufacturing ASSETS)
branch have been transitioned to the Merrimack, New Hampshire
(formerly U.S. Networks ASSETS) branch. The Detroit Branch
will be unavailable after January 4, 1991. This is a U.S.
change only, and does not include the Europe and GIA ASSETS
	Libraries.

This completes the consolidation of the three separate U.S.
Libraries into a single new U.S. Digital Solutions Library.
The U.S. Digital Solutions Library is available through VTX.
All users of the ASSETS Libraries can now connect to a single
Digital Solutions Library which will provide information and
service requests for all of the current packages. If you have
questions you can contact HORUS::MAINTAINER or the Sales
	Support Team at DTN 223-5911.

The following information will assist you in requesting the
packages from the new Digital Solutions Library.

	* Access for all packages should be made to the new library
beginning December 23, 1991. The Detroit Branch will be
available for 2 weeks to help users transition. If access
is made to the Detroit Branch after January 4, 1991, you
will automatically be connected to the new library.

	* The Merrimack Branch has used a proxy system to insure
correct delivery and support of the requested packages.
Some differences will be apparent to users that have only
used the Detroit Branch. The proxy system requires
that the user registration data on the Library System be
updated to reflect the users current NODE and ACCOUNT. This
information is used for the successful copying of the
package data. If the copy procedure fails, the following
	  things should be checked:

	1. You must be a registered Library user. If you are not
registered, please do so via VTX.

	2. Please be sure that you are logged into the same account
as indicated in the registered user data in the Library.

	3. If your node is part of a VAX cluster and the cluster has
an alias name, then the alias name must be used as your
node address in the registration database.

	4. Your system (node) must "know" the node (HORUS 3.586)
	   where the Library is located.
Use (MCR NCP SHOW NODE HORUS) to verify it.

	5. There may be a network problem. To verify that you
have a complete path to HORUS, enter DIR HORUS::.

	6. If all the above is correct and the copy still fails, have
your system manager execute the following commands from a
	   privileged account:

MCR NCP SET OBJECT FAL ALIAS OUTGOING ENABLED
MCR NCP DEFINE OBJECT FAL ALIAS OUTGOING ENABLED
