	Happy New Year!

You've hit on a never ending story....

After inital plans to do the port in-house, which would only have cost a 
few days, Digital decided (strategic financial ??? etc...)  last year to 
have the equivalent of FTSIE for AXP provided by a 3rd party (similar to 
what happened to RDB ;-} ).

Now months later we are still waiting for this Alpha-FTSIE. I can't give
you any dates because I don't actually know the status of the 
negotiations/development of the product. What at least should come out of this,
is equivalent versions on VMS and OSF/1 - that's at least what we were 
pushing for.

Contact the FTSIE Product Manager - Michael Eisenhut DTN 865-1487 or maybe 
he'll give us an official statement as a new entry in this notes conference.
