DEC FTSIE V2.0 or 'unofficial' VAX/FTSIE V1.4* is broken with DECnet/OSI V5.6. DECnet/OSI for OpenVMS V5.6 includes a new implementation of the OSI Transport protocol and hence replaces VOTS V2.0 and VOTS V3.0 (part of DECnet-VAX Extensions and DECnet/OSI for OpenVMS V5.5 aka Wave 2). The initial versions of the new DECnet/OSI (i.e V5.6) do not work with DEC FTSIE for OpenVMS. This has to do with how DECnet/OSI treated OSI applications initating connections asynchronously ($QIO with AST) using Output Item lists. This has now been resolved and a new ECO for DECnet/OSI V5.6B will be issued shortly. I will post the exact version of the ECO in a reply to this note. John

This problem has been resolved with ECO#4 from DECnet/OSI. Please ensure that you have installed DECnet/OSI V5.6B The DECnet/OSI V5.6B kit is shipping on the Nov CD. The E-net copy of the "B" kit is on: BULOVA::sys$kits:[DNVOSI.wave3_AMBER] and TRUMP::user$226:[dnvosi]. then install DECnet/OSI V5.6B ECO #4 kit.
