table can go for non-German speakers also.

Not that I've heard.

Their range of Transdata (the Siemens Network Architecture) Terminals
are of the block-mode type (a la IBM). They are connected either via
cluster controller or directly to a terminal computer using the MSV link
protocol (very similar to BiSynch). As TRANSDATA terminals are NAU
(Network Addressable Units) each Terminal Computer has a Connection
Handler which using a Pre-dialog (again a la IBM) sets up connection to
the requested Application.
Usually these terminals access BS2000 using TIAM (Terminal Interactive
Access Method) on the host system.
TRANSDATA shares many similarities with SNA, but remember each NAU has the
ability to set up a connetion to any other NAU independent of the host
(i.e. no SSCP function).

Their Data Processing Divison responsible for TRANSDATA and their PABX
divison are two seperate entities!
They have management product(S) for their TRANSDATA product families.

| Thank you all for the assistance thus far. Vera had also provided some
OSI product info in an earlier memo. In terms of German, mine is not,
but we have a native German in our group who would be willing, I think,
to translate. If the brochures are fairly recent (not more than 2
years old) I would appreciate a copy.

I have contacted Siemens marketing for you here in Germany and have
requested your info in English. They've promised to send me what
they've got in English. He also pointed out that you should contact your
local office as there is material that is translated on a country by
country basis.
Now the bad news. I won't be getting this literature till week after
next. They're obviously too busy sorting out their takeover of Nixdorf.

| Hello,
Siemens does have a Network Control Center (NCC) Software for PBX
management that is
described in the SYSTEM HICOM 300 product description (I will send you
a German copy).
They also make available to 3rd parties interfaces to certain modules of
PBX management, such as accounting management.
I would suggest that you contact Dave (JANUS::)Cleveland , responsible
for the strategic relations to SIemens, if you want to know more about
the recent discussions between DEC and Siemens about PBX management.
Different departments of Siemens (PBX,Computer,Public Switch)
are also evaluating our EMA
concept and are currently in contact with the European EMA 3rd party
program group in Valbonne. It might be worth contacting them.
