We've a got a Rfq asking 19 small (4 users) systems with UNIX 
operating system.

Each system has to have his Siemens MSV1 communication 
software/hardware. 

I know we have such third party communication products, but for 
VMS systems. Does someone know a solution for MicroVAX 2000  
(MicroVAX II will probably be phased out in the coming months... 
and will be too expensive for four users) or any other idea ?

    I am afraid there is no Digital-solution on UNIX - and a gateway
    solution does not make sense in such an evironment.

Alcatel has been developping a XENIX gateway (Unix version on 
PC's) for 9750 terminal emulation and file transfer (using MSV1 
protocol).

This means that one solution for this communication (from an 
Ultrix system) is a gateway PC.

I asked a proposal for porting this software to Ultrix.

    Let me have further details. Perhaps I there is a way to adopt
    INTEGRATA's "MEPSIE"-product line, which has been enhanced and improved
