28.0. "Bug, Version 3.5-2 Available" by MRMFG1::K_MACONI (The Doctor) Mon Oct 20 1986 11:59
I received the following problem description relating to Zap V3.5-1.

After Zap version 3.5-1 was installed on my system, 11/780 VMS 4.4,
Zap immediately crashed with the following ZAP.ERR file:

    %SYSTEM-F-SUBRNG, arithmetic trap,
subscript out of range at PC=0000462E, PSL=03C00004
    %TRACE-F-TRACEBACK, symbolic stack dump follows
module name routine name line rel PC abs PC
    ZAP SEND_WARNING 1838 000000F2 0000462E
    ZAP CHECK_FOR_EXCESS_TIME 2116 00000303 0000419F
    ZAP NAIL_USERS 2191 0000008F 00003E7B
    ZAP ZAP 2326 000001A5 000012E9
Due to some changes the routines which send out warning messages
to users which occurred in Version 3.5, the SEND_WARNING function
has a bug in it which causes Zap to crash on certain systems. Although
the problem is actually a coding error, it does not seem to show
    up on all systems.

The problem has been fixed an a minor release of Zap, Version 3.5-2,
has been released which fixes this problem. See note 1.1 for the
    location of the new kit.

(Note: VMS version 4.3 does not seem to "blow up" so you do not
need to upgrade Zap unless it fails.)

| | It appears that this problem is also cropping up on VMS V4.3 systems
at times. The 3.5-2 version fixes this problem.
