| 516.1 | Not much help, but | ESBS01::WATSON | And so, it begins.... | Wed Apr 05 1995 14:13 | 12 |
| | I'm not sure. As the 'pop' only occurs with the volume up loud the
    problem is affecting the pre-amp section (the power amp is fixed gain
    so any problems are the same volume independent of volume control
    setting). It sounds like mains but I wouldn't like to bet on it.

    I've tried mains spike protectors to help improve the sound and found
    that they didn't work. Give Linn a bell on the 0500 no I posted earlier
    they are keen to help in sorting problems even if the product is 2nd
    hand and have been known to re-emburse dealers who are asked to help
    out.

    It's just this sort of thing that steers people to buy Japanese
    products!
    It happened to me with an old Armstrong Amplifier years ago...ever
    since then it's been Technics or Sony.

    Sorry Mr. Uk manufacturer

| 516.4 | Hopefully fixed | WOTVAX::HILTON | http://blyth.lzo.dec.com | Thu Mar 28 1996 12:00 | 7 |
| | Fixed the pop in the Linn/Speaker, by getting 2 2.50 suppressors from
    Maplins and fitting one in the fridge plug (which I don't thing
    worked) and one in the amp plug (which I think did the trick).

    It's not popped in 3 hours yet, so fingers crossed!
