Has anyone any practical experience of/exposure to RUARK speakers which
I saw (but did not hear!) last week.

Also, has anyone any experience of the Doug Brady chain of high-end
hi-fi shops; I believe they have 3-4 other branches throughout the UK
in addition to the one near Holborn I found last week.

    Thanks,

    Russell.

I once went into the Doug Brady's near Seven Dials for a demonstration
of something (Micromega CD player I think), as I just happened to be
passing the shop. I wasn't incredibly impressed with the service, but
it was all rather short notice for them.

| I've got a pair of Ruark Acoustics' Sabre speakers which I bought about 5 years ago. Not much to say except I haven't grown tired of them yet so they can't be all that bad! I chose them after auditioning against some Monitor Audios (can't remember which ones now) at a specialist hifi dealer in Cambridge (can't remember who). I think they cost me about 250 pounds back then, not including stands. I use them with a Quad 33/306 pre/power amp combination and an old Sony CD player which really needs replacement due to an unreliable tray mechanism (I'm thinking about the new Arcam Alpha CD player).
