I just returned from living in the UK. While there, I bought a JVC
mini-stereo. When I bought it from Dixon's, I was assured it was
easily convertible for use in the US. Well as it turns out, it's not
that easy. Is anyone interested in buying a JVC CA-Mx1BK/LBK? There
are two components - one is the cd/amplifier and the other the tape
deck/tuner. The output is 30 watts per channel for the main and 20
watts per channel for the subwoofer.
It's a great unit - cpact but it sounds great. You can probably see a
similar system at Dixon's. I bought mine a year ago for 525#. I'm just
looking to get back 325# or so.

What were you told about it being easy to convert to US?
And why wasn't it as easy as you were told?
