Some seven years ago, I bought a Philips cd202 CD player to add to
my audio system, consisting of Monitor Audio R152 speakers and a
DENON PMA737 amplifier amongst other things.
Can any of you cd gurus comment on the sound quality of this CD player.
Would an upgrade to a more modern CD improve the sound quality on my
system in a noticeable way ?
    	Regards,
    Kurt.

I recently directly auditioned an Arcam Alpha (420 in UK) against my
four year old Philips CD360 (was 250). The Arcam was noticeably much
better - smoother, much more detail, interesting to listen to etc.

Before that particular demonstration, I wasn't convinced that there was
much difference between 3-4 year old players and the more recent ones.
