| | Yes, I read that it was good, but the only magazine I could find that
    listed features said it did not have A/B repeat, which I must have. Can
    anyone confirm / deny this?

| 85.4 | CD 270 ??? | MALLET::JEFFERY | The wind just kind of blew me here. | Tue May 16 1989 01:16 | 11 |
| | I hear that Denon are pretty good, although I've only heard the
    expensive one (See Bristol HiFi Show report).

    Not had any complaints with the Phillips CD-270 (I think it is 270),
    and that costs about 250 quid. Only real complaint is that the Step
    styling is unattractive, and that it would definitely look wrong
    if you had an AIWA cassette deck as well!

    Cheers.

    Mark.

    I have The MARANTZ CD65. It is worth having. Sound is good. It
    does have a repeat option (Not sure about A/B repeat as .5). Looks
    good. Don't know wheather this is o any use but it say's that it
    has a Z-Filter with 16 Bit Twin DAC Full Floating Mechanism.

    Costs about 200-250

    Hope this helps

| | Yes, The Marantz CD62MkII *SE* (Special Edition) has consistently
    scored higher than other machines in its price group in all the
    reviews. It costs 299.xx, as opposed to the 250 for the standard
    CD65MkII. The problem you will have is getting one!

    Last time I enquired I was quoted 3/4 months!

    If you find one, please let me know where...cos I want one too!

| | A-B repeat enables you to repeat any given section of a track. Thanks
    for all the replies, but it does not look as if the Marantz has A-B...

| 85.9 | Denon DCD-810? | AYOU30::PAULC | Me and you against the world | Thu May 18 1989 13:51 | 8 |
|  |     I've got a Denon DCD-810, cost 249.95. It has remote control, is
    programmable, and has repeat A-B. It received pretty good reviews
    when it came out. It's my first CD player so I can't really compare
    the sound quality to any other player, but it sounds OK to me.
    Just one thing - it seems quite noisy when it's searching for tracks;
    is this common?

| | How noisy? If it sounds like you've got an RD54 in there then take it
    back for a repair. My Technics SLP350 is just about silent.

| 85.11 | marantz cd65 best buy | SEDCAS::FSOR_ADMIN |  | Wed Sep 06 1989 17:27 | 10 |
|  |     i had a cd104 which packed up and was replaced by a cd473 which
    also packed up. after some looking i got hold of a MARANTZ CD65iiSE
    it was well worth the wait. I would recommend this chap for <300
    pounds.

    	it does have an A/B facility you can set up any time to start
    and stop playing within a tract or the whole CD. I have not tried
    it out though .
