Does that mean it really costs 10 or 8 then?

| 809.2 |  | COMICS::DENNIS |  | Mon Oct 31 1994 16:44 | 4 |
| | That means that if you come on the coach, the whole trip costs 8.
If you travel there yourself it's 5 on the door.

Okay the coach leaves from the CSC @19:00. There are a few places left
on the coach. Ring me, mail me, come round and see me. Whatever.

Demand has been such that another coach has been organised for the
surrounding area which means there'll be a stop in Reading on the way
    from the CSC.

Last Monday, the Black Crowes played there under an assumed name as a
'secret gig'. To headline at The Mean Fiddler is an accomplishment in
itself for unknown band. That Charlie's Mushrooms were invited to headline
there only 5 days after having formed is remarkable...

...and that they are going to deliver an explosive show that will stay
in the memories of those present for the rest of their lives...

    ...is inevitable.

Ask yourself - can you _really_ afford to miss Charlie's Mushrooms a
    week Thursday?

    Two questions:

    1. Do I assume the Black Crowes are a well known pop combo ?

    2. What exactly is the point of playing a "secret gig" ? Are they just
shy ? If so why don't they just not play at all ?

Whoops, that's four questions grouped into two groups. Sorry !

| | A 'secret gig' is a media hype trick. If you're a famous band playing
a small venue under a different name, you can pull a capacity crowd and
create more of an enigma around the group.

The Black Crowes play R'n'B rock stuff - nothing like Charlie's
Mushrooms at all. I was simply using that gig as an example of the
quality of music and performance you can expect from Charlie's Mushrooms.

Do I take it that you're interested in buying some tickets and coming
along with all the other lucky people?

Tell me your contribution isn't entirely negative...8*)

I may be over thirty, but I feel sixty in this note.

What on earth is R'n'B ?

I'm not being negative. I just don't understand. I think an evening
with the Charlie's Mushroom's might just be all too much for me...

    Regards,

This Friday at Farnham Art College, you can see these pioneers of 'Surf Jazz',
a revolutionary new form of acid-jazz-dance-groove, again. It's a student
union bar so the door cost won't be more than 3 a head. No transport for this
gig, I'm afraid but get in touch with me if you want more info.

It's happened. And we have witnesses. Charlie's Mushrooms played the
Mean Fiddler on November 17th and tore the roof off. Ask anyone 8*).
Guess what? They have been invited back to headline on Thursday, the 22nd
December. Tickets are the same price (5 coach, 3 door) as last time, and
the advance bookings alone mean that we might have to book more coaches. The
coaches will be going thru Alton, Basingstoke and Reading in case you were
wondering so get in touch with me, Paul Dennis, now. If you haven't seen us
before, the people who have know exactly what you're missing 8*).
