| | Yes, it is the new Warner Bros cinema. I believe it will be six
screens, but don't quote me on that.

I've been to a Warner Bros cinema (12 screens) in Bury, and its much
better than the only other multi-plex I've been to, the Cannon in Ocean
Village, Southampton. The WB cinema has much more comfortable seats
(needed when you're watching Born on the 4th of July at 1am, at the
    late showing).

From the leaflet I picked up in Bury, it said that the Basingstoke one
was due to open on September 21 1990. Being a WB cinema, they usually
get some big star(s) to open it. I believe the cast of Police Academy
    opened the Bury one.

Look out for the WB shop as well, selling all kinds of Bugs bunny stuff
    that you never wanted :^)

| | There was a bit about the new cinema in the free Gazette. 10 screens,
a "complete night out" with popcorn, ice cream and pizza. As for
the opening date I think it just stated next month.

| | HI

There are loads of posters up advertising the new cinema. It has ten
screens and will be opening on September 21st. Apparently it will sell
popcorn, pizza etc. and will have a games room (didn't say what type of
    games though 8-) ).

There is a poster on the boards next to the Castle Pub opposite Snam
    House.

    BTW

The games room in Bury is a cupboard with 5 or 6 video games in it.

| | When the whole leisure complex was announced, there were plans for a
nightclub as well, and I read in the Gazzette that this was due to open
in 1990. Does this WB complex have a nightclub, like the one in
    Bracknell ?

re "where is the Point in Bracknell"

Easy answer .... same place as the Peel Centre

More difficult answer .... leave the M3 at Junc3 ,head north up
the A322 until you get to the roundabout by the Horse and Groom
(on your right).Take the second exit (Downshire way) and go
to the next roundabout (Twin Bridges). Take the third exit (under
the left hand bridge) and head round to the right (you should be
able to see Safeways on your right , this is the 3rd exit) .The
Peel Centre is on your right (MFI,Great Mills,Halfords and Currys)
and the Point as at the far end by the next roundabout.

If you're coming from Reading then the Twin Bridges roundabout is
the second one you come to on the A329(M) .The first one is the
southern industrial estate now that the Coppid Beech flyover is
    open.

    Well...

I went to the new WB 10 screen cinema in Basingstoke on Sunday
afternoon. Big foyer area with a video games room on one side,
and a sweet shop on the other side. In the middle was a large
round counter that sold sweets, popcorn etc...reasonable prices
    I suppose for a cinema.

The auditorium itself was nice, very comfy seats, plenty of leg-room,
also a drinks holder attached to the back of the seats for putting
    bits and pieces in!

Entrance was 3.50 each...not cheap, but I haven't been to the pictures
for ages so I don't know how much it usually costs!
