Can someone please point me to some documentation on IPW that I can
pass along to my customer? He's expressed a lot of interest in it, and
I've been looking around for information to give him, but everything I
find seems to have "Internal Use Only" on it.

IPW, in itself is not for sale. The only way we can currently sell IPW
capabilities is as a custom projects. There are, however, a number of
capabilities that are being packaged to get us a fast start for
customer development projects. I suggest you contact Susan Foley (DTN
291-0199) for information on SmartFolder, which is something you can
sell as a key to a custom project.
