42.0. "Help: PTICMMSELECT, only when crossing borders" by MEXV01::DELHUMEAU (Carlos) Wed Apr 13 1994 14:50
    Hello,

    Chihuahua (Mexico) Mfg IS here.
I am implementing TPAS in our cluster. The product has been
installed, the databases have been pulled from ACADMY and imported
into the local RDB databases. This is OK so far.

When i run the TPAS_DEMOSITE_BASIC program, it gives me results whose
cause i do not yet understand: it seems to work only for transfers
    within the same country.

    For example,

Part Number Type	From	To	Result
    ----------- ----	----	----	------------------------------
    21-37324-61 RAW	USA	USA	Success
21-37324-61 RAW	USA	MEX	PTICMMSELECT error
21-37324-61 RAW	AYO	MEX	PTICMMSELECT error
    21-37324-61 RAW	MEX	MEX	Success
    21-37324-61 RAW	AYO	AYO	Success
21-37324-61 RAW	AYO	USA	PTICMMSELECT error

    Note:
    "PTICMMSELECT" = %APPIX-F-PTICMMSELECT, PRICING_TABLE SQL select
    transaction, no record found

I have checked the PRICING_TABLE and found the following record:

Class Prod Type Bus Typ Xfr Prc Code MLP Calc Eff Start Eff End
    ----- --------- ------- ------------ -------- --------- ---------
     ** RAW MFG S 1 30-Aug-92 31-Dec-99

And thus i don't understand why, if there is a record in the Pricing
Table which seems to fulfill the search logic crtieria, the program
gives the error status. And why, if there is no international boundary
crossing (ie. to-from are within the same country) the error does not
happen and we get a successful status.

So far i haven't been able to get a single Transfer Price correctly
which would span two different countries as the To/From combination.

All the records in Pricing_table and Discount_table have been updated
in the Efctvy_end_date column to the value of "31-DEC-1999".

What should i do to correct this? If it is a matter of adding a record
in the XCLDD database, which values should it have (aren't they already
in the DB) ? Or am i making an incorrect assumption somewhere?

Also, i would like to suggest the use of examples in the TPAS Search
Criteria section of the User Guide (pp. 2-12, 2-13) because i had a
real hard time trying to understand it. A few examples would make life
    a lot easier!

Thanks for your assitance, and greetings from Chihuahua, Mexico

    Carlos

| 42.1 | Using PPCS, no AMPS available | MEXV01::DELHUMEAU | Carlos | Thu Apr 14 1994 12:48 | 6 |
| | Hi,

I forgot to mention that we are using PPCS as link to APPIX.
We don't have AMPS available as a backup at this time.

| | Carlos,
I have checked your reported problem. As you are the only site utilizing PPCS
this had not been seen. It seems that during the conversion from APPIX to
CPRS the PPCS code had a bug introduced into it. This will be modified and
put into production. I will let you know when complete.
 regards,
 Lois
