39.0. "bug in rtVAX300's VMB ?" by SWTHOM::VOUTERS (Philippe VOUTERS (Evry France)) Fri Nov 08 1991 17:19
    Hello,

    This is a question about VMB in ROM. It appears using a LAN analyzer
    that, when booting over ethernet, when the rtVAX300 requested from
    frame number N and receives frame number N - 1, the rtVAX300 does not
    re-ask from frame N. This behaviour does not correspond to the code I
    can read for Mayfair (routine mop_boot, file VMB650.LIS). Isn't there
    a bug in rtVAX300's VMB. If yes, where to report it ?

    Regards,
    Philippe

|  |     Hi Philippe,

    The rtVAX 300 does not have VMB in ROM, the rtVAX 300 firmware
    contains custom boot code developed by Digital in the US.

    If this behaviour is a problem then it is not KAV30 specific. There is
    an rtVAX 300 notesfile on node PROXY:: which is probably the best place
    to ask this question.
