| | Hi,

I planned to attend, but I was sick. I obtained numerous handouts
from Charlotte Timlege, who did attend the event.

I look forward to the next EISE event.

| 11.6 | end of the quarter "Crunch Mode" | DEMON::WEST | be there....or don't! | Fri Jul 28 1995 08:07 | 8 |

I also wanted to attend. The end of the quarter is a difficult time to
    attend seminars and training.

    Looking forward to another one.

I, too, was under a tight deadline. However, being located at
the site where the EISE Expo was held, I was able to attend a
    couple of the presentations.

The presentations that I did attend were very informational.
Some of the information directly applied to my project. As a
result, I was able to network with individuals and teams for
    information sharing and collaboration.

Although I couldn't attend many of the presentations, I did
overhear many `hallway' conversations. Overall, people really
liked the expo, found the presentations informational, and
enjoyed meeting new people and seeing old friends.

The EISE Expo team did a great job organizing and managing
    the event!

    Topic suggestion for future expos:

    - There are teams developing game scenarios (such as jeopardy,
trivial pursuit) as an alternate learning solution. It
would be interesting to see a suite of these.

| 11.8 | Attended and presented | TNPUBS::HIGGS |  | Mon Jul 31 1995 08:59 | 20 |
| | I presented at and attended the media presentations at Taylor Street.

Overall, it was a good experience. I was impressed by the variety of
on-line information we provide and by the possibilities as we expand
    our tools.

While there were interested participants in the presentations I
attended, I was struck by the fact that most were writers already using
these tools and techniques. It would be nice to see participants who
now write "traditional" hardcopy and bookreader books, expressing an
    interest in broadening their scope.

As a presenter and attendee, the major detractor from the experience
was the lack of presentation equipment and access to other network
sites. This cost time and was disorienting. I know the planners lost
some of the resources they were counting on at the last minute. I just
want to reemphasize the importance of having adequate tools both for
development and demonstration of these concepts.

I Did attend, in fact I was a presenter. I too thought the major detractor
was the presentation equipment. It also made me as a presenter very nervous
to be switching back and forth and not to have set up everything and checked
it out an hour before start time.

I got alot of interesting information to take away with me, but none
that I'm using at the moment.
Networking with people was great. I met people that I'm sure I'll be able to
call on in the future for help.
No time for lunch unless you missed a seminar! ARGH !!!!!

I think it might be more useful to novices if the pace were alot slower:
Have a couple of presentations one in the morning and one in the
afternoon and have terminals set up so that novices can actually
play with and learn, with the experts at hand.
The place to have this kind of seminar would be Parker St in
	a couple of the classrooms.
Topics I would like to see in the future:
	Multimedia Viewer Authoring
Indepth for people who haven't ever used it
	Release Engineering the detailed view.
